Winter is just as hard on pets as it is on humans.  They too get tired of being stuck in the house and they miss being able to play outside where there are things to hunt and stalk.  I am always trying to find new toys to keep both of our kitties active and happy and this Flying Feathers Cat Teaser toy ended up being a great choice. Feathers are a favorite of both of our cats (unfortunately for the birds around here) and they absolutely love feathered toys.  The fact that it also has a bell on it seemed to make them even more eager to play.   It also has a super long cord so I was able to stand far enough away that they could really jump and race around without me interfering.

Kelso (the gray kitty) was  more laid back when he was playing with it and seemed to mostly like swatting at it.  When he would snag it with his claws he really didn’t want to let go.  I think he liked the fact that he caught it and just didn’t want to give it up.  Willie (the black kitty) was much more energetic when he was playing with it.   He was running from room to room chasing it, banking off of the back of the catch and doing lots of jumps and flips while trying to snag it in midair.  It was really quite fun watching them both and how different they were.

Kelso was much more excited when we added his favorite box to the game.  He was really enjoying crouching in the box and attacking it as it came into his line of sight.  I think adding the box kept him playing much longer than he normally would have since he is a fairly lazy kitty and likes to sleep more than anything.  I am happy that we found something that they both enjoy enough to get up and get the exercise they miss out on a lot this time of year.

So far it still has all of it’s feathers and we’ve had it about a week and played with it many times. I’ve never had one last that long either so I’m impressed with how it’s made.
